Before her TV work she also had the same role during WW2 and the 1940’s on BBC radio.
During this period she also appeared in a small number of film and TV productions including Next of Kin in 1942 – she played the part of Keaton’s secretary (pictured) – Keaton was played by Frank Allenby. Next of Kin was the WW2 propaganda film which featured Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne as the 'two careless talkers'.
Other productions that she appeared in include the TV series Life With the Lyons 1957, the 1962 film Design for Loving and a cameo appearance in The Goodies TV series in 1976.
Mary Malcolm was the granddaughter of the actress Lillie Langtree. She died in 2010 at the age of 92.
