His film career included appearances in Candles At Nine 1944, The man With a Load of Mischief 1946, Warning to Wantons 1949, To Live in Peace 1951, The Limping Man 1953, The Vale of Shadows 1955, Menace in the Night 1957 and Ordeal by Fire 1957 and Cromwell 1970. He also played the part of the ex-Editor of the Evening Comet (pictured) in the 1949 film Stop Press Girl which starred Basil Radford, Naunton Wayne and Sally Ann Howes.
His TV credits include the The March of the Peasants 1952, the William Tell TV series 1959, Death of a Ghost 1960, Amelia in 1961 and Dr in Charge 1972 - there were of course many more.
He carried on acting to his death on 13 October 1979; his final appearance in the TV production Spy! was first seen by viewers in 1980.
