Cecil Parker the actor was born 3rd September in 1897. One of his more infamous characters he played was Mr Todhunter in Hitchcock"s The Lady Vanishes 1938 (Pictured). The character was on the train with his mistress and played the cowardly role against the heroics of Charters and Caldicott. His 'act of cowardice' was more about him keeping his presence, and that of his mistress, In Bandrika, out of the press if an international incident was about to occur. He also appeared alongside Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne in Quartet in 1949.
Other films that he appeared in include Man Who Lived Again 1936, Citadel 1938, The Stars Look Down 1939, Ships With Wings 1941, Captain Boycott 1947, The Weaker Sex 1948, The Man In The White Suit 1951, The Ladykillers 1955 and Carry On Jack 1964. He typically played characters with a stiff shirt personality or with an air of smug disdain. There were of course many more films.
He died 20th April 1971.
