She started her acting role at the age of 16 upon signing with the Rank Organisation ‘Charm School’ in 1947 subsequently appearing in many of their films. One of her first films was in It’s Not Cricket which starred Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne as major Bright and Captain Early; she played the part of Blonde (1st photo)
Other films that she appeared in include, Dancing With Crime 1947, three of the Huggett’s films – Holiday Camp 1947, Here Come the Huggetts 1948 and Vote for Huggett in 1949, Diamond City 1949, Lady Godiva Rides Again 1951, A Kid for Two Farthings 1955, Yield to the Night 1956, Tread Softly Stranger 1958, I Married A Woman 1958, On the Double 1961, The Counterfeit Constable 1964, Berserk! 1967, Baby Love 1968 and an appearance in Steptoe Rides Again in 1973.
In addition to her film career, Diana had a successful stage, TV and singing career including appearances in cabaret shows and releasing an album and several singles.
Her many TV appearances include Hitchcock Present The Sorcerer’s Apprentice in 1962, the 1970’s Queenies Castle TV series and the late 70’s series Just William. She also made a guest appearance in the music video to Adam Ant’s Prince Charming.
She died 4th May 1984.
