The British actor Douglas Seale was born 28th October in 1913. He had an amazing career spanning 65 years and on both sides of the Atlantic including film, stage and TV.
His first film appearance was in 1937 in Once in a Lifetime. His acting career was disrupted by WW2; following his return he played the part of the Jeweller’s Assistant in 1949’s Stop Press Girl which starred Basil Radford , Naunton Wayne and Sally Ann Howes.
During the 60’s and 70’s he focused on stage performances but resumed his film career in the 1980’s with an appearance in Amadeus in 1984. Other films that he appeared in include Heaven help Us 1985, A Smoky Mountain Christmas 1985, Ernest Saves Christmas 1988, Ghostbusters II 1989, the voice of Krebbs in The Rescuers Down Under 1990, the voice of the Sultan in Aladdin 1992 and The Palookaville in 1995.
