The British actor Brian Oulton was born 11th February 1908 in Liverpool and died at the age of 84 in 1992. He was probably best known for his portrayal as Master Snelgrove in Young Sherlock Holmes in 1985 and Uncle George in The Canterville Ghost the year after.
Prior to that he appeared in dozens of British films including his role as Simon Herbage (pictured) in 1949’s It’s Not Cricket alongside Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne – a film that included one of Diana Dors’ first appearances.
Other film and TV productions that he appeared in include, The Happiest Days of Your Life 1947, Miranda 1948, The Huggetts Abroad 1949, as the medical equipment salesman in Doctor in the House 1954, Private’s progress 1956, as Fauntley in The Good Companions 1957, as Henry Bray in Carry on Nurse 1959, Carry on Constable 1960, Jigsaw 1962, as Brutus in Carry on Cleo 1964, Carry on Camping 1969 and the Clerk of Court in Gandhi 1982.
