During her long and productive film and TV career she appeared in two of the Charters and Caldicott films; she played the part of the Station Master (pictured) in Carol Reed’s Night Train To Munich in 1940 where she constantly moved the two chaps from place to place and she also appeared in the British home front film Millions Like Us in 1943 portraying a seaside landlady.
Other films that she appeared in include Spellbound 1941, The Flemish Farm 1943, Brief Encounter 1945, The Shop at Sly Corner 1947, The History of Mr Polly 1949, Young Wives Tale 1951, Mad About Men 1954, I'm Alright Jack 1959, School for Scoundrels 1960, The Italian Job 1969, The Greatest Rock and Roll Swindle 1980 as well as two of the St Trinians films and early Carry On films – Carry On Nurse 1959 and Carry on Constable 1960.
Her TV appearances include The Rag Trade , 1970’s For the Love of Ada, A Legacy 1975, Maggie and Her 1976, 1980’s Metal Mickey and Never Say Die in 1987
