He started as a child actor in the late 1940’s progressing through adulthood in to the 1960’s before developing an acclaimed career in theatre production.
One of his earliest appearances was in 1949 as Monty Cowan (pictured) in the Ealing Studios classic film Passport to Pimlico - Nancy Gabrielle and Sydney Tafler appear with him in the second photo.
Other films that he appeared in include; The Golden door 1951, Devil on Horseback 1952, Too Young to Love 1960, The Rescue Squad 1963 and What a Crazy World also 1963.
His TV career included appearances in The Larkins where he played the role of a Teddy Boy, as Jo in Bleak House and various parts in Dixon of Dock Green.
He became one of the UK's best known commercial touring producers through his company Malcolm Knight Productions which was formed in 1975. From its inception through to 1990, the company produced more than 100 plays, pantomimes and musicals. Knight directed many of his productions and often had two or three tours running concurrently. His musical productions included Hair, which he directed, Oh! What a Lovely War, The Rocky Horror Show and Grease. Productions in the eighties included Salad Days, West Side Story and On the Town.
He died 15th November 2006 at the age of 71.
