Mary Hinton was born 17th February in 1898 and appeared in many British films during the 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’s. From 1955 she appeared mainly in TV productions until her death in 1979.
For fans of Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne, she appeared alongside them in two films, Quartet in 1949 and Its Not Cricket in 1948. In the first film she appeared in the ‘Alian Corn’ segment and in the latter she played the part of Lady Lawson (1st photo). She also appeared alongside Basil Radford in The Winslow Boy in 1948.
Other films that she appeared in include Once in a New Moon 1935, Gaslight 1940, Pygmalion 1948, Trottie True 1949, Her Favourite Husband 1950, Always A Bride 1953 and The Crowded Day 1954 (2nd photo).
She appeared in dozens of TV productions including David Copperfield 1956 (and also the 1966 version), Emergency Ward 10, as Lucasta in 1964’s Swizzlewick and in 1966 The World of Wooster.
