Maurice Denham, born 23rd December 1909, was an English character actor who appeared in over 100 film and TV productions. One of his most outstanding performances was for the 1954 animated production of Animal Farm – he played the voices of all the characters.
These are just a few of his many films that he appeared in They Made Me a Fugitive 1947, Holiday Camp 1947, Blanche Fury 1948, Oliver Twist 1948, Here Come the Huggetts 1948, Madness of the Heart 1949, Malta Story 1953, Doctor at Sea 1955, The Captain’s Table 1959, Our Man in Havana 1959, The 7th Dawn 1964 and Sunday Bloody Sunday 1971.
He appeared in two films alongside basil Radford and Naunton Wayne – in 1948 he played the part of the Coroner in Quartet and in 1949 he co-starred with the two chaps when he played the part of wanted war criminal Otto Fisch in Its’ Not Cricket.
He died 24th July 2002.
