
She has over 100 film and TV credits to her name but one of her more memorable roles was as the down-to-earth Gwen Price (pictured) in the British home-front film Millions Like Us which co-starred Patricia Roc, Gordon Jackson and also Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne as Charters and Caldicott.
Other films that she appeared in include The Silent Battle 1939, Poison Pen 1939, 29 Acacia Avenue 1945, as Nurse Woods in Green for Danger 1947, The History of Mr Polly 1949, Ivanhoe 1952 – she played the part of the Servant to Isaac, The Cruel Sea 1953, The Gay Dog 1954, John and Julie 1955, Tiger Bay 1959, Murder Most Foul 1964 and Oliver! in 1968 – she played the part of Mrs Bedwin.
During the 1960’s and 1970’s she appeared regularly on TV in such productions as Weavers Green as Dotty Armstrong, The Newcomers as Mary Penrose, Daniel Deronda as Mrs Meyrick, Worzel Gummidge as Mrs Braithwaite and Strike it Rich as Mrs Morris.
She died in October 1998.
