She trained at the Rank Organisation's "charm school" and subsequently appeared in a number of their films during the 1940’s and early 1960’s. One of her first film appearances was in 1949’s Helter Skelter where she played the role of a receptionist (pictured)
Some of her other films include; Saraband for Dead Lovers 1948, The Clouded Yellow 1950,Hindle Wakes 1952, Alf’s Baby 1953, The Gelignite Gang 1956, The Iron Petticoat 1956, Orders to Kill 1958 and The House in Marsh Road 1960.
Film roles dried up as she grew older, but she still found work and acted mainly in British television, appearing in such series as The Avengers, King of the River, Z-Cars, The Avengers, The Third Man and a 1982 appearance as Aunt Fanny in Comic Strip Presents Five Go Mad in Dorset.
She died 25th December 1992 in London.
