The British actor Stuart Lindsell was born 18th July 1892 as Reginald Stuart Lindsell. He started his film acting career in 1939 playing the part of General Flanco De Fortinbras in Geneve and went on to appear in dozens more films throughout the 1940’s and 1950’s often in upper class roles or figures of responsibility – a typical one was his appearance as The Coroner (pictured) in 1949’s Passport to Pimlico.
Other notable films that he appeared in include: as Earl Spencer in Young Mr Pitt 1942, Fanny by Gaslight 1944, as Colonel Appleby in The Man from Morocco 1945, Night Boat to Dublin 1946, as Major Phillips in Lilli Marlene 1950, West of Zanzibar 1954 and as Sir Henry Danier in Colonel march of Scotland Yard 1956.
He died in 1969.
