Tommy Godfrey was born on 20th June 1916 in London. The English actor had a relatively short film career but appeared in dozens of TV productions through to his death in 1984. He died 24th June 1984.
His film career included appearances in 1949’s Passport to Pimlico as the Bus Conductor (pictured), The Missing Note 1961, Hide and Seek 1964 and The Christmas Tree 1966.
Of his many TV appearances, the following are the more notable: various roles in Z Cars and Softly Softly, various roles in Dixon of Dock Green, Uncle Nobby in Steptoe and Son, and as Arthur in Love Thy Neighbour and also as Sid in Mind Your Language.
